[Composition] - My Favorite Poet

Introduction:

Kazi Nazrul Islam is my favorite poet. He is known as a rebel poct. He is our national poet. He is one of the famous poets of Bengali literature. He is the poet I admire.

Why he is favorite:

I feel inspired while going through his poems, His writings are full of revolutionary spirit, They inspired our freedom fighters with courage and hope. They also encouraged the people to be independent. Really I am impressed by his great writings. So I like him most.

Birth:

Kazi Nazrul Islam was born at Churulia in Asansol in 1899. His father's name was Kazi Fakir Ahmed and his mother's name was Zaheda Khatun. His parents lost four children before his birth. So they called Nazrul 'Dukhu Mia'. 

Life:

Nazrul came of a poor family. So he had to pass his carly life through much hardship. He lost his father at an carly age. He got his religious lessons in the village Maktab. He was reading in a primary school. He did not like a routine life. So he did not go to school regularly, He started writing in his carly life. He joined a music party called 'leto'. He wrote many songs for the party. As a boy Nazrul was restless. He fled away from home at the age of twelve. Then he worked in a baker's shop for some time Later on, a Muslim Sub-inspector of police took him to his own village home and got him admitted into Darirampur High School at Trishal. After some time, Nazrul left his education and joined an opera party. Naznin joined the Army during the First World War. He attacked the British rulers through his writings. He wrote some poems, prose and songs. He wrote the famous poem 'Bidrohi'. He published the magazine 'Dhumkatul. Many poems were published in this magazine. But the rulers sent him to jail for writing the poem 'Agamani'. In 1942 he became ill. He could not write any more. He died in 1976. His body lies beside the Dhaka University Mosque.

Works:

Nazrul wrote poems, prose, drama, novels, shorts stories, gajals and what not. His famous works are Agni Bina, Bandhan Hara, Rikter Badan, Bisher Bashi, Dolanchapa etc.

Conclusion:

Nazrul was freedom-loving. He was against all evils and injustice. In fact, he was a poet of love and humanity. He was a poct of song and beauty. He is our glory. We are very proud of him.
