Introduction: 

Rice is our main food. We get rice paddy. The paddy plant is a kind of grass. It has weak stem. Rice grows at its upper end. 

Where Grown: 

Rice grows in hot countries. It grows in Bangladesh, India, Mayanmar, Srilanka, China, Japan and Italy. It grows in plenty in Bangladesh. Paddy grows well in plain and moist land. It also needs heavy rainfall.

Kinds of Rice: 

There are many kinds of rice. But there a mainly four kinds such as Aus, Aman, Boro and IRRI. 

Time of Sowing: 

Aus is sown in Baisakh and reaped Shrabon. Aman is sown in the rainy season and cut in winter Boro is cultivated in Pous and reaped in Chaitra. IRRI grown all the year round. But it needs plenty of water. 

How Grown: 

At first the land is ploughed properly. The the seeds of paddy are sown. The seed being are grown. Next, they are planted in the field. In thra months the plants bear ears of paddy. Paddy is reaped when it is ripe. It is separated from the stalks. Then it husked.

Usefulness: 

We live mainly on rice. We eat rice twice o thrice daily. Chira, Muri and Khoi are made of rice Different cakes are made of rice flour . The straw is used as fuel. It is also used as food for our cows and we get rice.

Conclusion: 

We depend on rice in many ways. We can me do without it, So we should grow more rice.
