Introduction:

Newspaper is a paper that carries news and views of home and abroad to us. It is almost the first thing for us in the morning. Everyday we to newspaper and cannot do without it. Reading newspaper is a good habit

History:

The newspaper was first published in in China. The 'Samacher Darpan is the first newspaper in Bengali.

Kinds:

There are many kinds of newspaper. They are dailies, weeklies, bi-weeklies, monthlies, quarterlies. The daily newspapers give us the news of daily affairs. Most of the people read daily newspapers. 

Usefulness:

 A newspaper is a very useful thing. It has made the world smaller. It is so important to us that it like our food and drink. It is part and parcel of our daily life. It helps the growth of public opinion. It helps publicity. It has also a great educative value. It brings trade news, market news, political news, economic news, sports news, news of scientific inventions etc. In short, it gives us information, knowledge and pleasure. By reading newspaper we can enjoy all these benefits. We can learn many things both national and international from a newspaper. So everybody should read newspaper everyday.

Demerits:

A newspaper does much harm by giving false news. Sometimes it creates misunderstanding and spreads violence.

Conclusion:

In spite of having some demerits, newspaper is very important in our social and state life. Modern life is impossible without it. The freedom of the press is the first thing for democracy, So a newspaper should publish true news and views. We should form the habit of reading newspaper from our childhood.
