Introduction : 

Eve-teasing means the evil act of teasing or disturbing girls or women. It is a kind of sexual harassment. It is one of the social evils. Recently it has become a great problem in Bangladesh.

Impact / Effects : 

Most of the time school and college girls fall a victim to eve-teasing. Some teenager boys or even more grown up boys stand at the corner of the road and disturb the girls. They also pass bad comments towards them. Girls or women cannot go out for education or for doing jobs. They suffer mentally. Sometimes they commit suicide.

Causes: 

There are many causes of eve-teasing. Some of these reasons are men's evil nature, negligence of parents or guardians, illiteracy, frustration, failure in love, unemployment, limitations of laws, lack of social movement, lack of public awareness etc. Many people are unconscious of the evils of eve-teasing. The existing laws are not enough to stop it. There is no social movement against it.

Solution : 

It is high time to check eve- teasing at any cost. Parents or guardians should observe the activities of their children. People should be made conscious. More effective laws should be made. We should make a social movement against it. Exemplary punishment should be given to the eve- teasers.

Conclusion : 

Eve- teasing is a curse for our girls or women. The government has already taken some steps. The mobile court has already been formed. 13 June is declared as the Eve- teasing Protection Day. Our government should take more effective steps to stop eve- teasing. All should come forward in this regard.
